What is the average weight of a high school backpack?
Can you answer AAR_fanatic's question about backpacks?:
I am doing a persuasive essay and I need to know what the average weight of a high school backpack is.
I am doing a persuasive essay and I need to know what the average weight of a high school backpack is.
I asked my sister and she said that about 70lbs would be about right.
I need some other people to back this up.

I think it's about 30lbs
70lb sounds like way too much. I don't have any reliable statistics, but I would guess that my friends and I average about 30 to 35 lbs in our backpacks.

i think it was 35 lbs. The Government says however a backpack should be 10% of your weight which i definatly cannot be.
70 lbs seems exorbitant. if we all walked around carrying 70lb backpacks the entire nation would be crippled, believe me.
I think anywhere from 15-30 lbs seems correct, to me.
