Finding The Right Laptop Computer Backpack

Those of us who are especially lucky after the Christmas gift giving might find ourselves with a pretty nice Laptop Computer. What a great gift, you'll find that you'll never leave home with out it. But after a few days the excitement might wear off when you realize it's kind of annoying taking it around and worrying about dripping it etc. The solution is pretty simple. Invest in a Laptop Computer Backpack. It is a simple investment; after all, it's just a backpack. But, it makes having a laptop so much nicer. You can take it with you everywhere you go and have everything you need with it to. The only dilemma is what laptop computer backpack is right for you? Well, I present the 5 main considerations when picking the computer bag that is right for you.

1) Find a backpack that fits your bag snugly. You don't need to see it to make sure it works, but you definitely don't want to have your 12 inch laptop in a backpack that is designed for a 17 inch backpack. Most bags and backpacks designed for laptop computers will have some kind of foam or outer protection for the laptop. Both of these will keep your computer from bouncing around.

2) Make sure that the style of the bag fits your lifestyle. My first bag for my laptop was a leather briefcase. I made sure that I got a nice one and it did the job pretty well. But I found that if I had to walk a distance with my briefcase that it was kind of annoying and made me walk weird with all of that weight on one side. But, I just recently got my pick from a list of laptop computer backpacks and I love it. No more walking weird, I don't not want to bring my laptop anywhere. It is actually really comfortable. It is want I want. Make sure that you backpack fits your lifestyle. If you ride your bike to work, a bag without shoulder-straps would obviously have limitations. If you are a businessman and want to always look professional, maybe my briefcase would be a better choice. Just make sure that it works for you.

3) Find a look that is right for you. Many business women, for example, don't want to be seen carrying a big briefcase that looks like it was built for men. They would probably prefer looking for women's laptop cases. You would actually be pretty surprised at how nice some of these bags look. A far cry from the standard black laptop computer briefcase.

4) Find a good price. Shop around and make sure that you're getting what you want, for the price you want. Obviously nice backpacks, bags, or briefcases are going to be nicer and more expensive. But you shouldn't be spending hundreds of dollars for the laptop computer backpack that you want.

5) Find a good brand. A lot of the trendy women's laptop cases aren't going to be offered by the big brands. But, you can usually trust those. But for your standard laptop computer backpacks, stick with the brands that you've heard of (such as Targus, or Ogio). They have a good name for a reason. Or do your research and make sure you know what you're getting.

Laptop Computer Backpacks can be a cheap, but great investment. It will change the relationship that you have with your laptop computer.

Rolling Laptop Backpack for Your Laptop Carrying Needs

Laptop Backpacks are a great way to carry a laptop, because they spread the weight out between two shoulders, and because they offer additional security against being snatched off of your shoulder and whisked away by would be thieves.

Even laptop backpacks can be difficult to carry for long periods of time. Though they may spread the weight between two shoulders instead of one, it can still be uncomfortable to have a laptop backpack on your shoulders for several hours during long commutes or while traveling across a large campus.

While standard backpacks may be fine for more casual use, people who carry their computer with them almost everywhere they go may find it very uncomfortable to keep the weight on their shoulders for very long.

This is where rolling backpacks make a great choice. Although they are a bit more expensive than standard backpacks, they offer additional convenience for people who carry their laptop a lot.

Since these backpacks are designed to be used for many purposes, they are often more rugged and durable than standard laptop backpacks. Many people use these rolling backpacks for camping and hiking or as their carry on bags when they fly.

These bags need to be particularly durable to survive being jostled around with other luggage in an overhead compartment or dragged through underbrush while hiking, so they are designed to stand up to this type of use.

Some of the larger rolling backpacks have an especially useful feature. They have detachable day packs that can be used to carry things like a wallet, water bottle, keys, cosmetics, and other items. This could be carried separately when needed, and attached to the main pack only when traveling.

There is one main drawback to using a rolling backpack over a standard laptop backpack notebook. They do actually weight a bit more than standard backpacks because of the added weight of the handle, wheels, and frame. This can be cumbersome if you are traveling in a lot of areas where you cannot roll the backpack, but in urban areas this would not likely be a big problem.

When shopping for a rolling notebook backpack, you will want to look for one that is durable, but also padded. In addition to making it easier to carry, the main function of a laptop bag of any kind is to protect your computer. If your bag is not padded well, its not going to be much protection to your laptop.

You also need to be sure you get a notebook backpack with the best combination of strength and weight. You will probably want something relatively lightweight, especially if you plan to travel in areas where you cannot roll your bag most of the time.

But you do not want to sacrifice a lot of durability to cut down on the weight. Ideally you will find something with a very sturdy handle. Plastic is lighter, but may break easier than metal. You will have to decide whether the strength of metal is worth the added weight.

Other styles of laptop backpack notebook cases can also be found in rolling models, but backpacks are more likely to be allowed as carry on luggage and are also easier to take with you when the terrain is not conducive to rolling.

Computer Backpacks Provide Comfort for Carrying

Laptops can range from ultra-portable models that weigh only around a pound or two, to

desktop replacements that can weigh 10 pounds or more! Laptops of all sizes and weights can be clunky and difficult to carry. They dont usually fit into a purse, and putting them in a briefcase with other stuff can damage them.

Carrying a standard laptop case isnt always a good option, either. For one thing, these bags often arent as secure as youd like. They can easily be snatched off of your shoulder if you arent cautious, and a thief could make off with your computer very quickly.

They can also be very uncomfortable on your shoulder. When you carry a heavy burden on a single shoulder, it can become painful pretty quickly. The load shouldnt be carried on one side. This can throw you off balance and also be damaging to your shoulder.

A better idea is to use a computer backpack. If youre going to be carrying your computer around all day, this is even more essential. You need something that will distribute the weight of the computer more evenly, and a backpack does that.

Since a backpack has two straps, the weight of the computer and its accessories is spread over two shoulders rather than one. This helps keep you balanced, and also helps keep your shoulders safe.

Standard laptop cases are also much easier to steal than backpacks. This is another major concern. Many people have had their cases snatched right off of their shoulders by a thief who then ran quickly into a crowd and disappeared. With a backpack, the thief would have to snatch the bag off of two shoulders. This would be nearly impossible to do without being caught, and most thieves wouldnt bother.

If youre going to buy a backpack for your computer, you might want to get some sort of additional protection for the laptop itself. Backpacks dont offer as much protection against bumps and drops as thicker leather or vinyl cases. You can buy sleeves for many models of laptop. These sleeves offer additional padding, and they offer additional protection against damage while inside the backpack.

When shopping for a backpack for your laptop, you should look for a few key elements. Youll want a roomy backpack that can carry your computer and its accessories. Youll need something that will hold your computer, your adapter, and any accessories like a mouse, external hard drive, alternate keyboard, and other accessories. Plus, you may also want to carry books, your cell phone, cosmetics, or other items.

You may also want to look for a backpack that has a locking mechanism so people cant unzip your backpack and remove items from it while its on your back. Skilled thieves can take items from a backpack without the owner even noticing.

Some backpacks come with a method for securing them built in, but others can be locked with a small padlock. Look for a backpack with two zippers on the same track. These two zippers can meet in the middle and be locked with a padlock that is attached to the holes in the end of each zipper.

Backpacks are a great option for carrying a laptop. They offer casual style for people who may not want the more professional style of a standard laptop case, and they are generally far more comfortable to carry because of their ability to split the weight between both shoulders.
